18th Birthday Summer Portraits in Richmond
My feelings about her 18th birthday are too deep, too big, too much for actual words, hence the delay on this blog post. Eloquence eludes me in my effort to gather my thoughts about her.
This amazing young lady has been an indescribably precious gift since her very first heartbeat. Everything about her leaves me in awe, and I cannot believe my luck at having had a front row seat to her becoming an adult. The beauty of her soul is unspeakably profound. She is kind, gracious, patient, and gentle. Her humble confidence in her true worth and identity are so far beyond her years. My prayers for her life are being answered, one after another: she has found her place and her people, she is loved and respected, she is making a positive impact, and she is eagerly learning and pushing herself to be wiser and stronger. I hope she will always consider me her “home”, while she continues to live her best life making her new “home” in the world. But I miss her so much it hurts to breathe. The past 18th years have been more wonderful than I ever could have imagined.
“She came in and she was like a shot of espresso. She’s incredibly energetic and enthusiastic and she had this sense of play and fun, which was incredibly exciting.” -Andrew Garfield
