Lake Monticello Teenage Girl Spring Portraits
A few weeks ago when we thought we were starting off a little break from school, my children and I each made “wish lists” much like we do at the start of summer break and winter break. As a photographer, I was thrilled that my oldest daughter included “photoshoot” on her list! As the days passed and the seriousness of our current “break” sunk in, I admit that I began to emotionally and mentally shut down. This beautiful girl, however, never wavered in her steadiness and sense of peace; I admire so many of her amazing qualities but her calmness and steadfastness in the face of adversity truly astound me. Her confidence is rooted firmly and admirably in her faith, and she has reminded me over and over again of specifically where and how I can find refuge given the turmoil in today’s world. Her strength and wisdom has been a light in our home these past few weeks!
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:5-7
